    Tosca, Opera by G. Puccini

A classic story of vanity, jealousy, betrayal and death, Tosca by the great master of Italian opera Giacomo Puccini has long attained a cult status. The Leonardo Da Vinci Experience Museum in Rome presents you with the unique opportunity to see the classic work in a minimalist arrangement for principal vocal cast and an instrumental trio, a production that lays bare the Maestro’s dramatic and musical genius. Included in your ticket is a tour through the museum and a 10 per cent discount in the shop. What better way to immerse yourself in true Italian culture?

The Leonardo Da Vinci Experience Museum is located in the heart of Rome, a short walk away from St Peter’s Basilica. In it, you can immerse yourself into the wonderful, astounding world of one of the greatest inventors humankind has known. Starting at 7:00 pm, you are free to explore the museum with the help of an audio-guide, available in several languages, and see many of Da Vinci’s fantastic inventions and visions recreated faithfully according to his copious notes. There are few better ways to experience Leonardo’s gift, literally at an arm’s length!

Once you have enjoyed your museum round, the performance of Tosca commences at 8:00 pm. In this 90-minute production, the intense plot that famously unfolds almost in real time is even more cinematic and engaging. Puccini’s skilful operatic characterisation shines brightly in the famous arias such as ‘Vissi d’arte’, ‘O dolci mani’ or ‘E lucevan le stelle’. The story of the jealous and vain singer Floria Tosca, her lover and secret revolutionary Cavaradossi, and the unscrupulous police commissioner Scarpia forms an intense triangle. As the plot takes its many shocking turns, the talented vocal cast and accompanists make Puccini’s fantastic score the centre of the action.
